What should I wear?

Anything you’re comfortable in. You’ll see everything from jeans and T-shirts to business casual. There’s no dress code. We like to tell our kids, "God cares more about you than your outfit."

How long is the service?

Church is about 60 - 75 minutes long. We start services with a worship song, a call to worship, and a hymn. We then welcome our children into children's ministry (ages 3 through fifth grade).  Bottom line, if you are running late - don't worry! You are still very much welcome.

Question 3

What happens during the service?

We open with a worship song, our call to worship and then sing a hymn together. We then welcome our children into Children's Ministry. We have two classes; preschool through third grade, and fourth though fifth grade.

We then have a prayer of confession, and our sermon.

Question 4

What is your worship style?

At Lakewoodgrace, our worship music is a blend of contemporary worship music, and traditional hymns.  Some people sing along, and others listen. Both are okay.

Is there childcare?

Yes! We have a nursery available for kids 6 weeks to three years old.  It is open 15 minutes before the service. You will sign in your child and leave your cell phone number just in case we need to get a hold of you.  There are always at least two adults in the nursery at all times. And if you are more comfortable having your child stay with you during the service, they are more than welcome!

Are you volunteers background checked?

Yes! All our volunteers are background checked through the Washington State Patrol.

Question 7

What programs are there for kids and youth?

Accepted Answer

We have several options for kids and youth.

Nursery: Available for children 6 weeks to age 3. The nursery is available starting 15 minutes before the service.

Children's ministry: Available for children ages 3 through fifth grade. These kiddos stay with their families until they are called up after the second worship song.

Middle School Students: Our middle school Student Ministries meets to discuss the sermon every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month. This is so our middle schoolers  can partake in communion.

Where do I park?

We have parking in our main parking lot and along Motor Avenue. If these spots are full, you can park at America's Credit Union, which is just off Mt. Tacoma Drive, or in the large lot that is across Mt. Tacoma Drive.

Will I be expected to give ?

No. Giving is for those who call this church home. We just want to see you next week!

Question 10

Can I take communion?

Accepted Answer

If you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, yes!  You are welcome to participate in communion. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of the month.

What happens after the service?

Accepted Answer

Some people stick around to talk, others head out right away—both are totally fine. Many of us have young families and work during the week. We know that you likely have responsibilities outside church, and that is just fine.

Question 12

How can I connect or talk with a pastor?

We have a welcome table, and greeters who will welcome you and hand you a bulletin. Our bulletin includes a communication card that you can fill out and put in the blue box that is on the welcome table.

Both of our pastors are available after the service and would love to talk with you then, or a time that works for you. You can call our office (253-588-6631) to schedule an appointment with either of our pastors.
